Application

The output end of the sensor is fastened by injection molding process, which can withstand high and low temperature and has stable performance.

The Engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensors, coolant sensors alsois "water temperature sensors" are typically installed in the water jacket or coolant line of the engine block, as well as on the cylinder head or radiator to determine the engine coolant temperature.

The temperature of the water temperature sensor uses a negative temperature coefficient of thermistor, the higher the temperature of the engine coolant the greater the resistance, the lower the temperature of the engine coolant the smaller the resistance, and provides the engine cooling water temperature signal to the electronic control unit.

The sensor is basically a thermistor that changes resistance with temperature. When ECT is high (hot), resistance is low, and when ECT is low (cold), resistance is high. This resistance reading is sent to the vehicle's on-board computer, which is used to regulate various ignition, fuel and emission control functions, and to turn the radiator cooling fan on and off as needed.
